Below post has been circulating on social media.

CENTRAL BANK OF INDIA….announced in public notice, that they included NRC doc in KYC list….Accounts will be suspended and we can’t withdraw money from accounts if NRC doc is not provided.
So withdraw your money from these accounts and CANCEL all the accounts in CENTRAL BANK OF INDIA.

The message that Central Bank Of India is asking its customers to submit the details of their NPR for its KYC form, is being circulated on whats app and other social media. Check4Spam talked to Mr Naveen Senior Manger Central Bank Of India, Bangalore City Branch. He confirmed that there was some mistake and is being rectified. He told us this information does not holds good now. The notice is shared to confirm that NPR is not mandatory. The notice was pinned at the Rein Bazar branch. Below is the shared notice by Central Bank Of India as per The Siasat Daliy:

As per The Siasat Daily and Surf News, the news was published in Enadu Telugu News paper (Krishna District Edition) Jan11, 2020. Eenadu is the largest circulated newspaper in regional language in India.

Though Sirf News mentioned  that “A source in the Central Bank of India said the bank had not received any instruction from the government or Reserve bank of India to ask for NPR information from its customers”.
