A letter from RBI ( Reserve Bank Of India) is being circulated on WhatsApp and social media that make very lucrative promises. The offer appears very attractive. A huge return within half an hour is very attractive and people get fooled. The deal sounds unreal because it is unreal.
Many people have claimed to have received a message “Transfer Rs 12,500 online, and the bank manager will credit your account with Rs 4.62 crore” from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) mentioning that they can earn Rs 4.62 crore after paying only Rs 12,500. However, it is important to note that this is a fraud message and RBI has not made any such claims and the fraudsters have impersonated the government’s organization to dupe people of money. Time and again RBI’s name is misused by cybercriminals to cheat people.
The fraudsters have also used RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das’ picture on the fake website.
According to the government PIB Fact Check team, the RBI has not made any such claims and the fraudsters have impersonated the government’s organization to mislead people for money.
