The post is being shared on social media with claims “कर्नाटक में कॉलेज ने हटाया ड्रेस कोड, अब छात्राएं हिजाब पहनकर जा सकेंगी क्लास में.” In fact, this is not true. Mint and Hindustan Times shared the article with the news about the dress code for students. The circular was released on the official website of Karnataka on 16th February 2022 mentioning the rules to be followed in educational institutes regarding dress code. It has been clearly written that ‘ln the above circumstances, we request the State Government and all
other stakeholders to reopen the educational institutions and allow the
students to return to the classes at the earliest. Pending consideration of all
these petitions, we restrain all the students regardless of their religion or
I’aith from wearing saffron shawls (Bhagwa), scarfs, hijab, religious flags, or
the like within the classroom, until further orders.
We make it clear that this order is confined to such of the institutions
wherein the college Development Committees have prescribed the student
dress code/ uniform.”
