In fact, rules of mandatory Hallmarking of gold jewelry is not withdrawn by the government.
The government made gold Hallmarking mandatory from June 16 in a phased manner after a gap of several months in view of a novel coronavirus pandemic. Jewelers are given time till August to fulfill the required formalities of getting as per the rules before a penalty is imposed on them.

Ask for magnifying glass that gold shops are mandatory to keep. That is important to know the purity of gold.
