Dear Consumer Your Electricity power will be disconnected.Tonight at 10.30 pm from KSEB electricity office because your previous month bill was not update.Please immediately contact with our electricity officer 9883273323 Thank you
Verification: The fake notification is being sent to the consumers in the name of BESCOM and KSEB
A text message is being circulated attributing it to BESCOM (Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited) and KSEB (Kerala State Electricity Board) The text says “Notification, Dear Consumer Your Electricity power will be disconnected. Tonight at 10.30 pm from BESCOM electricity office because your previous month’s bill was not updated. Please immediately contact our electricity officer at 6291475545 Thank you.” The phone number (6291475545) shared in the fake notification is shown as “Electricity Fraud”.

The same text was being spread attributing it to KSEB (Kerala State Electricity Board) with another fake mobile number. The text reads, “Notification. Dear Consumer Your Electricity power will be disconnected. Tonight at 10.30 pm from KSEB electricity office because your previous month bill was not updated. Please immediately contact our electricity officer at 9883273323 Thank you.”
KSEB on Twitter also refuted the claims and KSEB Chairman & Managing Director Dr. S.S. B Ashok lodged a complaint with the IAS City Police Commissioner. Check the Tweet shared below:
