The video clip of the Japan Tsunami in 2011 is shared on Facebook and Twitter and is said that it is from China. It is claimed that the video is of the Three Gorges Dam in China on 2nd Aug 2021. China got hit by floods recently due to heavy rains but the video clip sharing is in fact from Japan when in the year 2011 it was badly hit by Tsunami.
The video shared by RT can be seen and was published on 13 March 2011 with the description “The #Gorges_Dam in #China on 2nd August 2021 due to heavy overflowing.
This dramatic video shows a tsunami wave smashing into the Japanese town of Miyako, in Iwate Prefecture. The wave crashes over the seawall carrying away everything in its path, including boats that topple over the wall and are smashed into a bridge. Cars were simply washed away, crashing into each other and buildings. More than 1,400 people were killed by the quake and resulting tsunamis and hundreds more were still missing, according to officials, but police in one of the worst-hit areas estimated the number of dead there alone could eventually top 10,000.”
