The Classic from Guide, 1965 written by Shailendra and Composed by Sachinda sung by Lata Mangeshkar
Picturised on evergreen Waheeda Rehman…but I didn’t know that it was originally going to be in Devdas with Dilip Kumar & Suchitra Sen. There also was the same pair of Shailendra and Dada Burman. It was pictured on versatile Suchitra Sen. Wordings of the song were little different. Even music was little different. Whereas a tabla piece replaced original sitar piece. Unfortunately the song was not used in the film and 10 years later it featured in Guide and went on to become a great hit…but see it ..how well it was picturised on the great Suchitra Sen…a rare video …dont miss …??????

This is a wrong message passing on social media.
In Devdas (1955) movie the lyricist was Sahir Ludhianvi. Piya Tose Naina Laage Re from the movie Guide was indeed written by Shailendra but was never tried for Devdas as mentioned in the post. Our verification volunteer also confirmed this rumor with Dinesh Shailendra (son of Shailendra).
The channel which uploaded this video themselves never claimed it. Its a youtube channel which has been mixing old video and new audio to bring in a new feel for the song/scene. Another example is the video below from the same channel.
