According to the news report about the Jashpur incident on 15th October 2021, One dead, 16 injured as a speeding car mows down people on way to immerse the Durga idol, 2 arrested. Boomlive spoke to Pratibha Pandey Additional Superintendent of Police Jashpur who confirmed that both. the victim and the accused are from the same Hindu community. FIR has been registered. According to The Hindu, The occupants of the SUV were identified as Bablu Vishwakarma, and Shishupal Shori, residents of Singrauli district in Madhya Pradesh, while the vehicle was found to be burning when the Police reached the spot. The car was being driven by drug traffickers, who were hauling drugs from Odisha to Madhya Pradesh, Ajay Yadav, IG, Jashpur told media persons. The deceased has been identified as 21-year-old Gaurav Agrawal, who lost his father in a road accident a few years back.
Chhatisgarh’s chief minister Bhupesh Baghel tweeted and expressed his concerns. He said that the accused was arrested and the investigation is on.
