Two images are viral on social media with false claims that they are from Lakshadweep Island. After PM Modi’s visit to Lakshadweep Island, posts regarding the visit are all over the media. The shared images have no relation to Lakshadweep at all. Check the links shared below to know the facts:
The image can be seen here and was posted 9 years before
The image is also seen on Getty Images. The date credited on the image 2nd April 2013.
Another viral image can be seen on the National Geographical website and was published in the year 2011. The description of the image is “An Indian boatman sitting near the polluted river waters of the Ganges at Sangam, the confluence of the Ganges, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati river in Allahabad.”
The images shared are not related to Lakshadweep Island. Images are old and relate to the polluted Ganga river at Sangam.
