The performance begins with invocations to deities and involves singing uplifting songs. This tradition has been recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity since December 2016.
On the other hand, “Mehngai Dayan” is a song from the film Peepli [Live]. The song is sung by Raghuveer Yadav and composed by Ram Sampat. The lyrics are penned by Brij Mandal and Bhadwai.
